How To Get Great Second Day Curls With Dove Volume And Fullness Dry Shampoo
This post is sponsored by Dove Hair Care but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
Calling fellow curly heads (and non-curly heads as well!) – let’s have a talk about second day hair! You know what I’m talking about – that phenomenon of having your curls retain their integrity the day after they’ve been washed and style. It’s possible, yes, it is! Thanks to good hair care products, you can rock your curls with pride. One of those products is Dove Volume And Fullness Dry Shampoo, one of my favorite hair care finds that I pick up for under $5 at Walmart.
Who loves dry shampoo? This curly haired lady right here! I could write an ode to dry shampoo because it’s a game changer in so many ways. More on this wonder products soon, but first I wanted to chat a bit about Dove Thickening Ritual Shampoo and Conditioner. I found both products at my local Walmart, and the nice part is that they’re all under $5 per product.
Dove Thickening Ritual Shampoo and Conditioner contain lavender oil and rosemary extracts. Inspired by French beauty secrets, both ingredients are known to help nourish and invigorate hair. After I had my son almost 11 years ago, my once extremely voluminous mane of hair lost a whole lot of volume! It takes a lot of work to boost my curls to the level they were once at, so I have to say I’m enjoying the shampoo and conditioner which add shine and a fuller texture. Plus, the lavender scent is truly delectable.
Here is how I revitalize my curls with Dove Volume and Fullness Dry Shampoo for a great second day hair look. Holding the bottle of dry shampoo an arms length away, I spray it directly at my roots.
Next I work that dry shampoo in like it’s no one’s business! I don’t use a comb or brush, instead I use my fingers to really make sure the product gets worked into my hair and scalp and doesn’t leave my hair with a white cast.
Finally, I take a very small amount of jojoba oil and finger comb it through only through the ends of my hair to help my curls look their best.
Easy peasy! Here’s to great second day curls!
I had a lot of fun creating the makeup look for this post – I used Aveda lipstick in Acai on my eyes and Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Premium pigment in Heavenly right in the middle of my eyelid. The rest of the eyeshadow look is from the Urban Decay Backtalk palette and is finished off with Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper.
