Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation Fights Acne & Keeps Oily Skin In Check

Press Sample

By Sheila Arkee

When it comes to foundations that promise to keep us oily-skinned individuals looking  decent, I can definitely declare the following: been there, done that, not buying a t-shirt because I’m not impressed! And then I discovered Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation which keeps skin matte and helps fight acne without the use of drying salicylic acid.

Dubbed a “Miracle Foundation For Oily Skin”, Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation claims to, “absorbs oil, camouflage imperfections, and deliver a long-lasting velvet matte finish without the need for touch-ups.” When I have a new foundation, I like to give it a couple of weeks to see how well it weathers all of my potential life situations, and have to say that Hourglass performed beautifully.

When applied with the also wonderful Foundation Brush by Hourglass, the foundation just blends right into your skin. As a liquid-to-powder formula I had no idea what to expect, but  you do not need a powder to set this foundation. That’s been an adjustment for me, because I am the queen of setting foundation and concealer with powder AND frequent touch-ups. However, when you use a powder, the following happens – a little too much matte for my taste!

On the other side, this look is the result of not using a powder to set anything AND it stays this way for a good 6 or so hours:

The texture of this amazing foundation is quite unusual, sliding right onto your skin and blending into a powder finish that doesn’t cake up or separate at all.

After getting positive feedback from customers on the acne-fighting benefits of this foundation, Hourglass commissioned a 4-week consumer study of 30 women with oily, acne-prone skin, with the following results:

– 100% reported an improvement in overall skin appearance and skin smoothness

– 100% reported that the product worked without drying skin out

– 83% reported a decrease in oil production and the need for touch-ups

– 80% reported a visible improvement in acne scars

– 70% reported a visible improvement in pore size

– 63% reported a reduction in the severity of breakouts

The verdict? Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation is a game changer. For reals. This “miracle” foundation is definitely worth looking at if you are prone to oily skin and especially if you are need of an acne control product. Plus, Hourglass has recently added 8 new shades to increase the range to 16 shades.Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation retails for $55 and can be found online and in Sephora stores.

Based on this review, I went to Sephira today to try it. I hat just discovere the Hourglass Mineral Primer and immediately fell in love, so I figured this was worth a fry!

The associate picked out Pearl, and put it on my whole face. When I looked in the mirror, I actually screamed. It was amazing! Perfect, smooth, soft, and with only a single pump. I was sold.

My skin felt wonderful and velvety the whole time I had it on. And while it is matte, it is definitely not flat! I had wonderful, glory, natural sheen. No “shine”!

I cant thank you enough for writing thismsomthat I found it!

I was also wondering your opinion on the Hourglass #2 brush vs the Sephora #56. I keep reading glowing reviews of the Hourglass, and if it really is that much better, I’m going back for it next paycheck! I’ve got the 56 now, and its what they used on me in the store. She’s all cleaned up with my “The Masters Brush Cleaner” and ready for morning!

Hi Jennifer – I am so glad you love it!!! It’s an amazing product that has definitely impressed me. I have not yet tried the Sephora brush you mentioned, but I am going to make a point to check it out the next time I visit Sephora. :)

Cool! I’ll keep an eye out to see what you think between the two brushes. I’m all for investing in good tools… a good brush well cared for will last many, many years! That said, if the Sephora is just as good, I can spend my $58 on eyeshadow and lip gloss. :)

It is really good information about to treat acne by using Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation. If you have an oily skin, then make up your face occasionally but not more often. Epicuren After Bath Moisturizer is a herbal product also can preserve your skin from acne and skin problems.
