By and far, my favorite luxury makeup line is Hourglass Cosmetics. From the sleekly sophisticated packaging to the incredibly high quality products within, I’m always in awe of their newest releases. For Holiday 2012, Hourglass has released some new goodness, including their Film Noir Kohl Pencil, a long-wearing liner that is formulated to stay in your waterline.
True to the Hourglass aesthetic, this liner is absolutely gorgeous. The pencil is long and tapered, something you wouldn’t mind keeping out on display.
Cleverly, the pencil comes with two caps – one, a standard pencil cap and the other with a hidden sharpener. I love pencils that come with sharpeners!
The liner comes in two shades: Eclipse and Espresso. I tried Espresso, which is a rich, matte brown. The color payoff is great and it glides on your skin without dragging.
If a makeup product can last through one of my Saturdays, it can last through anything. So, lets see how this lovely liner stacked up. Here’s the liner right after application – I went for a really subtle, pretty look for a typically busy day.
Three hours later … still looking good in the waterline.
And, in a snapshot from my phone, the liner is faded, but still hanging on in the waterline 6 hours later. I’m totally impressed.
The Hourglass Film Noir Kohl Pencil is free of parabens, pthalates, and talc, and it retails for $28. This pencil is available in limited release this month, and will be fully available in January 2013 at Bergdorf Goodmans, Barneys, Space NK and Sephora.com.
