Have I told you lately how much I adore Hourglass Cosmetics? I’ve featured some Hourglass lip crayons recently, but it’s been a quick minute otherwise! It’s definitely time to rectify the situations and I’m glad to do so with a couple of recent acquisitions: Hourglass Cosmetics Ambient Light Correcting Primer in Dim Light ($44) and Hourglass Cosmetics Veil Translucent Loose Powder ($46).
I picked up both products recently at The Makeup Show LA and have to say I’m in love with both products and am wearing them in this photo.
Here’s the deal with Hourglass Cosmetics, having used their products for quite a while now. We go back a long ways! The packaging design is excellent. It’s so elegant and chic and substantial and it’s not just a pretty face! The products themselves are, for the most part, fantastic and worth the high price tag. I love when higher end products have great performance. There are so many times I’ve been disappointed by luxury name brands, but never with Hourglass.
Hourglass Ambient Light Correcting Primer comes in three shades: Luminous Light (a champagne tone), Radiant Light (pink) and Dim Light (gold). It’s lightweight, sinks into your skin immediately and is designed to work with the other Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder products as a first layer of light. I love the way Dim Light powder makes my skin get that sought after lit-from-within glow and feel that this primer works the same way. This primer does have dimethicone, for those who have issues with silicones in skincare and makeup.
Then there’s Hourglass Translucent Setting Powder and just look at that perfect H in the middle of the jar! I mean, really! This powder is ultra-refined and finely milled. It’s super lightweight and proves it’s worth by keeping my oily skin in check for hours. A good deal and I’ll enjoy using this powder. Don’t ask me why (’cause I really can’t tell you), but I’ve been on a major translucent powder kick and have several in my arsenal to choose from!
