HOLY GRAIL ALERT!!!! Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel System – A Pregnancy Glow, No Commitment Necessary

By Wendy Larson

Between oily skin, my love for full coverage foundation, and let’s face it- not drinking nearly enough water the skin on my face is usually pretty dull.  On top of that I’m acne prone.  The conundrum I face is finding a exfoliator that actually does the job and is gentle enough to not slice up my skin introducing more acne causing bacteria. Gentle exfoliators with little round microbeads do very little for me and products with crushed up apricot pit, walnut, or sand, do a good enough job clearing off the dead stuff but are so harsh that they destroy my face…and I wonder why I have a fresh colony of zits every day.

I wanted to try a chemical exfoliant like AHA or BHA but had no idea where to start until I saw a youtube video from Glamlifeguru (Thank you Tati!) that featured this product.  Olay’s Microdermabrasion and Peel System is actually a dual purpose (physical and chemical) exfoliator. First you apply the orange crystals and massage them around on your face.  Then you top it off with the AHA solution that  causes the crystals to foam up.  I massage it around for a minute or so and then let it set for a couple of minutes while I do other things in the shower, then I buff it off with a wet wash cloth.

The product itself is surprisingly gentle and has a pleasant fruity scent.  The whole experience is pretty comfortable, but the AHA solution does make the crystals heat up. Nothing painful but it is disarming if you don’t expect it.  The only thing I wish were different is the foaming. I expected it to foam up much more than it actually does, that’s just an aesthetics thing…I like foam.  My skin is left glowy and rested looking.  If you have extremely sensitive skin you  may want to stay away, but I think  most skin types would be ok using this.

So why is it a holy grail?  My acne is gone. This literally resurfaces my skin down to the clogged pore and empties it out.  It’s also helping to fade dark spots and acne scars.   I even spot treated a pimple with it and it was gone overnight.  The kit says it has enough for 6-8 weeks of treatments (2 times a week) but I’ve used it for 3 weeks and I’ve barely made a dent in it- which is good because for a drugstore product this one is pricey.  It runs between $23 and $35 depending where you live and where you get it, but right now it’s on Amazon for $17.

I’ve been using this for awhile! I love it. I use it about twice a month to keep my skin nice and smooth, and it smells FANTASTIC.

Happened to be in Target yesterday and saw this. Though, hey, why not? I’ll give it a shot. I just used it for the first time today, and my skin feels AMAZING. It’s SO SOFT and SMOOTH! Thank you for this recommendation!
