You know, when it comes down to things, sometimes you wanna have fun with your hair and not have to a) pay $$$, b) potentially damage your hair with bleach, c) commit to a certain look for a period of time, d) all of the above. In my case the option is d all the way! So when I found out about Hair Paint Wax from one of my Instagram beauty friends, I placed an order right away!
There was a two-year time span in my life when I sported two bleached out panels of fire engine red hair. It was fun! I enjoyed it and who knows, there may be a time when I return to the look. For now I’m keeping things simple, but will admit there are times I want to change things up.
That’s the beauty of Hair Paint Wax. These are colorful waxes you use to color your hair temporarily. They wash out right away and don’t cause any damage. Unlike hair chalks, these are not messy at all and look very natural once applied to your hair.
There are 12 colors of Hair Paint Wax available and I went with purple, a shade I’ve always wanted to try in my hair. Key ingredients include Carnauba Wax, Beeswax and Licorice.
The wax is very easy to work with, I’m glad to report. You apply the wax to damp hair and can build up the color you want. I like the hold it offers my hair and I LOVE that it’s sweat proof – I wore my purple hair to the gym and had zero problems with it fading or dripping down my neck. Also notable is the fact that it washes from your hands easily.
I will say the color isn’t as vivid as it dries, but overall I’m very happy with the results I get from Hair Paint Wax and will be buying more colors. I have my eyes on Aquamarine, which is currently sold out.
My Final Thoughts: Fun hair color for under $10 that looks fantastic and isn’t a pain to apply or remove? Yes! I’m definitely a fan of and will be back to buy more Hair Paint Wax shades.
