One thing I really believe is that we’re all entitled to a little luxury now and then. My recent little bit of indulgence has come in the form of the Guerlain Attrape-Coeur (501) Eyeshadow palette, a lovely mix of purple, mauve, pink, and white eyeshadows.
At a price of $59, this palette is a definite splurge. To be honest, I wanted to be able to pour some major hatorate on these shadows, but in fact, these are some gorgeous colors a step above with smooth, rich pigmentation.
As an eyeshadow addict, I was most impressed with the fact that these shadows are all highly pigmented and buttery, shimmery without being obnoxious. The fact that the darkest purple glides on without a fight between my skin and my makeup brush is a feat in and of itself! In my experience, purples can often be patchy and difficult to blend, but not so in this case.
The luxury touches of this palette extend to the packaging, with a substatial golden case that comes with a velvet pouch to keep it looking lovely and unscratched, with the Guerlain logo etched into the elegant case.
The palette also has a generour mirror and a sponge tip applicator, which I never use but always keep in shadow palettes, just because.
If you’re looking to treat yourself to some luxury gifts, I can say that Guerlain shadows are a good way to go. I’m definitely impressed! This Guerlain palette is limited edition, but can still be found online.
