Green Eyeshadow is Completely Underrated

By Sheila Arkee

I don’t know about you, but in my humble opinion I find that green eye shadows and liners are completely underrated. Green happens to be one of my all-time favorite colors and it adds a little special something for all eye shades. Even if you add just a smidge of green liner to your usual look, you’d be amazed how it makes eyes pop in the most magnificent way.

If you’re in need of inspiration when it comes to green colored products, here are a few of my favorites from NYX Cosmetics, most of which made this fabulous eye possible.

NYX Cream Shadow in Hunter Green

While I wouldn’t wear the cream shadow on its own, I think it’s great as a base to add depth to another shadow. Just a dab’ll do ya, pat a bit of the shadow on the back of your hand with the doe foot applicator and press on to your lids.

NYX Roll On Shimmer in Green

Now THIS is a great idea for containing and dispersing a loose powder! Amazing! I also love the texture of this loose powder and the fine glitter contained within. I used this as the lid color in the aforementioned eye of the day.

NYX Jumbo Pencil in Horse Radish

Jumbo Pencils have a very dear place in my heart. These are some of the greatest cream shadows I’ve ever used and so easy to transport. They’re great as a liner, as a shadow, or as a base for other shadows. These are highly collectable and I call them a MUST have.

NYX Slide On Pencil in Green Papaya

The NYX Slide On liners are some of the best in the beauty biz, bar none. These are dupes for the Urban Decay Glide On pencils, and shhhh, but I like them just a little bit better than the Urban Decay versions. I love this bright green and used it as the lower liner in today’s eye.

What are some of your favorite green eye products?

I am in total agreement. I am in love with all the different shades of green, especially in contrast to large brown eyes!
