Glitter O’Rama- The Resolution

By Megan Murray

Ok add this to your New Years Resolution List- Once (maybe more) you will wear a wall of glitter eye look so you know what it feels like to be a fairy/drag queen/deranged muppet…whatever.

If you don’t know what the “Wall of Glitter” eye look is, it is when you use a good base and just pat the glitter on your eye with your middle finger. Pat gently until you don’t see anything put glitter on your eye.

I cannot for the life of me take a decent picture, but you get the idea.

My mortar for this look is an NYX pencil in Milk and the brick is Sweet Libertine Glitter Eyeshadow in Bollywood. Bollywood is so green and sparkly it takes my breath away every time I open it up. Which, to be honest, is often. The glitter is fine and does not scratch at your eyeballs, which is good because bloodshot is not hot. Bollywood also does not create a lot of fall-out. Believe it or not fall-out from richly colored glitter is not desirable. If you are using a translucent or silver glitter, let it fly. The worst that could happen with neutral glitter is that you attract cats. With colored glitter, if it falls all over your face you look like an escapee from the home for the terminally glam.

I think it is so important for a woman to try this look at least once in her life because it is evocative of a fairy tale. For a few minutes( or hours, or at least on saturdays), you can capture a moment of fantasy that was lost with youth. Even if you just do it to clean your house, you will feel like the dusting fairy.

Sweet Libertine’s prices are great, especially for an experiment such as this. So hop on over, pick the color of your childhood dreams and give it a try!

  • if you want to get glitter to stick really well, you’ll need to try Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy, or Sally Girl Glitter Glue. both are fairly inexpensive and are incredibly effective!

  • I did wall of glitter looks a few months ago and hated them on me, then I tried them again for Christmas and now I like them! XD

I have yet to try it but I hear that eyelash glue works well for keeping glitter in place

there are so many things you are use…eye lash glue does work really well, it is a glue so it glues it on!
    Vaseline works well too.
lip balm has been known to work.
You can buy products out there for it to makeup forever eye seal, or mixing medium.

I love the wall of glitter and have done these a few times
