Today, on the first day of the week and the first day of the month (Monday July 1st, 2019), I am thankful for a) trying new things with the Girlactik Luminous Face Powder I picked up at Macy’s recently, b) being a 40 year old mom with very few inhibitions anymore, c) the fact that I can take my son places and not be freaked out about him eloping at a moments notice anymore. It’s freedom, sweet freedom in regards to the last two on my thankfulness list!
Girlactik Luminous Face Powder has been on my “gotta try it!” list for some time now. I’ve read only positive reviews of this $29 pressed powder and wanted to experience it first hand.
It’s been a quick minute since I’ve used anything from Girlactik. I generally like the brand, but dislike the packaging which gets dinged up pretty quickly.
It was on sale at Macy’s recently and I snapped it up! On a sidenote, I am continually wowed by the variety of beauty brands carried at Macy’s these days. You can even take advantage of both Ebates and Macy’s 15% off beauty sales, which makes for sweet deals. I order my Kiehl’s products through Macy’s and always keep my eyes open for deals.
There are 5 shades of Girlactik Luminous Face Powder: Fair, Light, Medium and Deep. I picked up Medium which is a good choice for my skintone. The powder doesn’t come with a sponge, so I apply it with a brush or a separate powder puff.
I first used Girlactik Luminous Face Powder to set my foundation and admit that I haaaaaated it – oily city! Then, I tried it one more time following some instructions on the box the powder comes in. Instead of setting my makeup with the powder, I applied it after a primer and before my foundation then set with a separate powder. The results are so much better and I was pleased this technique got my makeup through a hot day at a local splash pad. Awesome!
My Final Thoughts: Old school makeup junkies CAN learn new tricks! Girlactik Luminous Face Powder is a new part of my daily makeup routine and I see why it’s so raved about.
The Girlactik Luminous Face Powder featured in this post was purchased by me. All opinions are 100% my own.
