Hello, Summer and welcome to this glorious opportunity to shine and embrace the glow of the season. I’m all about a good glow, and I’m all into these lovely makeup products from elf Cosmetics.
elf Cosmetics kindly sent over a few of their tried and true glow-inducing products. I’m incorporating them into my Summer beauty wardrobe to get that lovely lit from within look without breaking the bank.
You gotta love elf Cosmetics for that reason alone! Yes, you will find duds in the elf Cosmetics range of makeup and skincare products, but by and large you’ll find some really great products in spite of the mostly $10 and under price range. elf Cosmetics has several product lines, including elf Essentials (very basic), elf Studio (mid range) and elf Beautifully Bare (a little higher than mid range).
Today I’m using makeup from the elf Cosmetics Studio and Beautifully Bare line of beauty products to create this lovely and glow-y look. These photos reveal my current hair care secret, which is either jojoba oil or sweet almond oil applied at night. If my hair needs a little TLC, it’s an oil to the rescue, which does give my hair an appropriate look for Summer, I’d say. I might wear my hair out like this more often!
To get the party started, use elf Cosmetics Lemon-Infused Brightening Mask ($2), a sheet mask with ingredients that hydrate and give skin a needed lift. elf also has Antioxidant Booster Drops ($10) that you can wear underneath your makeup or add to your moisturizer or foundation for extra hydration. This is something I’d wear at night the glow would be too much during daytime.
I started this look with elf Cosmetics Beautifully Bare Natural Glow Lotion in Gold ($8) used as a primer underneath my makeup. It adds a subtle glow, but instead of applying it all over my skin I think I’ll keep it to my cheekbones next time. I have it swatched next to elf’s Power Glow in Rose Gold, which I did use on top of Make Up For Ever Ultra HD in Y405.
elf Cosmetics Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette ($10) is responsible for this eye look. The swatches are a bit deceptive – they don’t look very strong, but when I applied them they were super (and unexpectedly) vibrant!
To finish the look, I used Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor lipstick, an excellent lightweight and glossy berry shade. It’s the opposite side of the price scale as elf’s products, but proof that there are no rules and you can mix and match products as you wish.
My Final Thoughts: elf Cosmetics really comes through with nice products that don’t break the bank! I’m going to have fun with these products through Summer.
