Read on to find out more about non-surgical facial treatments.
It’s the first week of the New Year and we are right in the beginning stages of annual resolutions. Most resolutions seems to be of the self-help variety, such as losing weight, ending bad habits, getting organized, and generally improving appearances.
For many people (self-included), it’s the time when we’re looking to freshen up our faces and turn back the clocks just a bit back without going to drastic measures. Without resorting to invasive surgical procedures, there are several non-invasive, non-surgical procedures available that allow you to make improvements to your appearance and self-esteem, like IPL.
Intense Pulsed Light therapy, or IPL, is an outpatient laser treatment that lifts scars and reduces blemishes and birthmarks from your skin. With recent advances in light therapy, you can remove blemishes from any area of your body, and for some people this can be a life changer, especially when it comes to conditions such as Port Wine Stains.
Last year I underwent a session of IPL and it worked extremely well to smooth and plump my skin, as well as reduce some dark blemishes. The experience was easy, and with the exception of some bright flashing lasers near your eye area, completely comfortable and painless. All you feel is some warmth from the laser during a 30 minute session.
In my case, IPL helped reduce acne scars and I saw a general improvement in the texture of my skin. It took about a week for the improvements to be made clear, but the effects were noticeable and really did make me feel better about myself. For instance, the hollows by the sides of my eyes were plumped up by IPL, which is something that had been bothering me in the back of my mind for a time.
IPL is easy, affordable, and effective. In light of those three components and in the spirit of the New Year, I wouldn’t hesitate to have more IPL in the future and recommend it to anyone looking for an easy way to make a big self-improvement.
