Lately I’ve been in the mood to explore beauty brands that I’ve brush by in the past. You know, those displays at Ulta or Sephora that you kind of glance at but don’t really feel great makeup vibes coming from their direction. That’s how I found myself making a grab for Essence Brighten Up! Peach Powder on a recent trip to Ulta.
I don’t get many opportunities to idly stroll through the aisles of Ulta or Sephora, but when the chance arises you know I’m on it! My son was hanging out with grandma and grandpa and I made a beeline for Ulta and it was fantastic! I picked up this powder after remembering seeing Essence pressed powders on Instagram somewhere or another.
Essence Brighten Up! Peach Powder costs $4.99 and has pretty spare packaging. There’s no mirror or powder puff, which are two features I’ve become so accustomed to over the years. I’m sure the lack of both helps cut down on the costs.
This is a mattifying powder and is also available in yellow (banana). I first used Essence Brighten Up! Peach Powder as an overall setting powder and have to say it was a little bit too much peachy to be used all over. Back in my childhood I always wondered why my mom wore this pink powder by Revlon called Rachel and now I’m here putting a peachy powder all over my face!
I do highly believe in peachy-toned concealers for underneath my eyes (totally cuts down on any discoloration) and found that this worked the same purpose and I like the long wearing, gently mattifying results that don’t get cakey over time. You can also use this powder as a highlighter on your forehead, down the center of your nose and chin.
My Final Thoughts: Essence Brighten Up! Peach Powder is lightweight and works well to keep my under eye concealer situation under control. No cakey-ness!
Cruelty-free? No (it’s worth noting this powder contains Carmine, as is kindly noted on the back! I’m a bit skeeved by it, admittedly!)
The Essence Brighten Up! Peach Powder featured in this post was purchased by me. All opinions are 100% my own.
