Double Wear, Double Wear, Double Wear. I’m doubling down for Estee Laude Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup and for a good reason – it’s one of the absolute best foundations I’ve come across in my umpteen years of being a makeup obsessed individual. The best!
A few weeks ago I was in Ulta returning a NYX foundation (because really, if something doesn’t work out for you, feel free to set it free! And get your money back!) and the cashier asked me why, oh, why was I returning it? I was truthful and told her it does not let my oily skin be great! She asked which foundation I did like for oily skin and my immediate answer was Estee Lauder Double Wear. Apparently so many other oily skinned makeup lovers she comes across in the line of duty agree – it’s just that good!
My introduction to Double Wear came pretty recently, which is surprising considering how much I’ve heard about Double Wear through the years. Double Wear is a matte finish that looks fantastic on my skin, covers up without being chalky at all, and really does let my oily skin be great for hours and hours on end.
It’s billed as offering 24-hour wear (haven’t quite tried that, though!), oil-controlling and best of all the colors won’t oxidize over time, meaning they won’t turn orange! My shade is 4C3 Soft Tan and it’s an excellent match. What I really appreciate about Double Wear is the fact that there are 56 shades to choose from! A wealth!
I also love that Estee Lauder Double Wear’s foundation range goes by the Cool, Warm and Neutral spectrum of shades that I first learned about when I worked for MAC. These nuances make a difference when you’re choosing the perfect shade.
I usually apply my foundation with a brush (see my best foundation brush picks here), and you can also use a tried and true BeautyBlender. I’ve just recently been introduced to Estee Lauder The Illuminator which is a gorgeous, golden-toned primer that’s very lightweight.
There’s also Estee Lauder Set+ Refresh, a setting spray that does help keep everything in place.
My Final Thoughts: If you haven’t tried Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup, what are you waiting for? It’s definitely a favorite for so many, and for a great reason!
