When it comes to moisturizing my lips, I’m a woman with high standards. Having tried multiple brands of lip balms through the years, the ones that stand out leave my lips feeling soft, aren’t too slippery, and actually feel like they are staying on your lips without feeling entirely waxy. Enter DHC’s Lip Cream.
Housed in an elegant peach tube, DHC’s fragrance-free Lip Cream has quickly become a favorite that will be on my “must repurchase” list. Bottom line, it makes my lips feel great and I love it on it’s own, under lip products, and as a treatment at night. The texture is smooth and doesn’t feel overwhelming at all.
Antioxidant-rich, nourishing olive oil is the main ingredient in DHC skin care products. One thing I recently learned about DHC is that all of their olive oil is sourced from the same location, which is the Núñez de Prado groves in Baena, Spain. I do appreciate that committment to quality especially after a suprise I had with Trader Joe’s brand of olive oil.
As much as I love getting my groceries at Trader Joe’s, I was a little surprised to look at the label and notice that the oil is a mix from Spain, Greece, and Italy. Upon closer inspection of other TJ’s products, the same mixing of product sources applies, which is probably why the prices are so reasonable. It won’t change my shopping habits, but it did make me think about ingredient quality a little more.
DHC’s Lip Cream is rich in Vitamin E and has a lanolin base with botanical ingredients that include beeswax, candelilla wax, olive oil, ginseng root extract, and aloe.
DHC’s Lip Cream retails for $8 and is available online.
