Okay, ladies & gents, it’s time to dish at our weekly open post. Pour the Earl Grey (hey, it’s time for a change), go get a slice of cheesecake we’ll be here for awhile.
It was a sad, sad, sad moment when I realized I could no longer blame my mom for the long curly grey hairs on my clothes. This girl’s going grey! I’ve made it up to my mid-30′s with my original hair color intact, so I can’t complain too much, and at least I have hair, so that’s nothing to complain about, either. Still, it just feels … strange – welcome to a whole new world of hair coloring!
My hair is no stranger to being dyed – for a couple of years I sported panels of fire engine red hair (I’ll have to dig up the pics), and then for a couple of years I had blonde highlights. However, I am not familiar with the world of permanent hair dyes.
If you color your hair, what are your tricks? Do you have a particular brand you recommend?

I like the SAMY Fat Foam dye, but I most recently used L’Oreals Creme Gloss (I think that’s the name) and it wasn’t too bad.
I’ve had good luck with Garnier Nutrisse for permanent color, but for my fun color and streaks (I was rainbow for about six months recently), I LOVE LOVE LOVE TheIon Brights from Sally’s. They’re terrific.
Thanks for all the great recs here – and for the ones left on the PL FB page!
