Okay, ladies & gents, it’s time to dish at our weekly open post. Pour the coffee, grab some clearance aisle Easter candy (there has been an obscene amount of Cadbury Cream Eggs consumed around here), we’ll be here for awhile!
Way back in the olden days when I was a teenager and starting my journey into makeup obsession, the Internet did not exist in its current form. Sure, there was one computer in my school’s library that had slow poke, dial-up Prodigy access and my family had a PC, but it was by and large an e-free world.
Without the benefit of blogs or vlogs, Junior beauty junkie Sheila spent hours at the library and book stores devouring whatever beauty book I could find. Kevyn Aucoin was my hero and his books were my official guidebooks to understanding how to do makeup.
Making Faces and Face Forward are my two gold standards, filled with gorgeous photos that still wow me. While flipping through these books recently, I was still just amazed by Kevyn’s ginormous talent. The man was an absolute master of contour. I mean, look at what he did to Martha Stewart!!!
What are your favorite makeup books?
