Cosmetics Confessions: What Are Your Favorite Gold Eyeshadows?

By Sheila Arkee

Okay, ladies & gents, it’s time to dish at our weekly open post. Pour the coffee, grab some cheese danish, we’ll be here for awhile!

This week’s question is impossible for myself because there are just so many gold shadows that I love and use frequently. At the moment, however, I have 2 main golds in my life that have captured my heart -

Sugarpill’s Goldilux, which is the sparkly gold of my dreams. The glitter within the already shimmery gold just does something to me!

BFTE’s Dragon Slayer, which is a new gold in my life, but already an essential. It’s such rich, velvety, warm color!

What are your favorite gold eyeshadows?

  • MAC Woodwinked has always been a favorite of mine. I would say UD’s Half Baked but I think I’m actually just brainwashed because they put it in both the Naked paletts and I’m bitter about it, so no. I have a duo by Bare Minerals with a color called Cognac that’s also really beautiful, really similar to Woodwinked.

  • Ahahaha I use gold eyeshadow a lot, so I have more than one favorite.

Sugarpill Goldilux is a favorite, of course, I’m fond of Inglot 404- it’s a nice warm burnt gold that doesn’t look gaudy. And, of course my favorites from Aromaleigh are Astonish (bright light gold, great for the inner corners), Spark (lightish warm gold, no longer made sadly), Aurelie (sparkly darkish true gold), annnnd Mercurial (dark gold with a green shift and blue sparks).

…I really, really like gold eyeshadow. Goes great with my greens, teals, blues, and reds/berries.
