Okay, ladies & gents, it’s time to dish at our weekly open post. Pour the coffee, pull out the cheesecake, we’ll be here for awhile.

We all have them … long, lost, treasured products that made their way to the beauty graveyard, discontinued, never to be seen again. If you had the magical ability to bring an old favorite back, which ones would you choose? My list includes:
- Maybelline Kissing Koolers. I cut my cosmetics loving teeth on these sweetly scented balms!
- The Ultima II collection designed by Kevyn Aucoin. The best neutrals ever, ever, EVAH! There was a lipstick called 6C that was utter perfection.
True story – A while back I was walking along the Los Angeles fashion district, known as Santee Alley, where I found 20 year old Ultima II products for sale. And don’t think I wasn’t tempted to bring them home.
- I’d also like Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara to be available in the states again – it was truly one of the greatest mascaras I’ve ever used!
What about you? What would you bring back from the cosmetics graveyard?

OMG, I never tried Kissing Koolers. I was all about the Bonne Bell Lip Smackers & Maybelline Kissing Potions. I know that you can still get Lip Smackers, but how I would love to get my hands on another Kissing Potion!
I loved the L’Oreal rouge pulp liquid lipsticks! I owned two colors,a nudey taupe and a bright red.I wore those all through out high school, and looking back on those dance formal pictures the nude looked AWFUL on me but I loved them.LOL
Aromaliegh’s ROCKS! collection. My first mineral eyeshadows, and still the best I own. Unfortunately, they discontinued the line before I could get all the shades I wanted.
I use them sparingly, since I don’t want them to run out too quickly!
I had the taupe and green swirly Kissing Kooler. I think I swiped it from my big sister. I stole a lot of her makeup….
I really miss Jane Cosmetics. I know you can still find some products in random drug stores but it’s not nearly the quantity or quality it had been. I don’t know if they went out of business or if they got sold to a crappy supplier. They had really great skincare.
I also miss the smell of the original Herbal Essences, when it was actually herbally smelling.
To Wendy, above: Jane Cosmetics is actually back but online-only now. They only have a few things but worth checking out!
I really miss the original Hard Candy nail polishes. Those were THE thing to have my senior year.
Thanks eight! I’m gonna go check that out.
I remember the ULTIMA II Wonderwear- that stuff wore like IRON.
I loved Kissing Coolers and the Kissing Potions…I would goop those on my lips then lick them off.
There was an offshoot brand I miss called Streetwear, I want to say it was a Maybelline brand. They had the best lipsticks! I had a brick color and a mauvey purple that I adored. I even bought backups and alas, I lost them in a move.
Street Wear was Revlon…..sigh. Cafe…I miss you so.
I totally remember that!
Wendy,
There’s a shampoo line named Vanart, it’s a Mexican line. The green shampoo called classic herbal is I swear the exact same scent as the original Herbal Essences. It’s also very drying just like the HE so it’s stricly for nostalgia purposes only to me. But my son and hubby love it.
