Okay, ladies & gents, it’s time to dish at our weekly open post. Pour the coffee, pull out the carrot cake (what, I like the frosting!), we’ll be here for awhile.
Let’s discuss beauty hacks – those simple, low cost solutions that make your beauty life easier. We all have ‘em – let’s share! Here are a couple of my tried and true favorites.
- Instead of purchasing makeup remover, olive oil and baby wipes are awesome and remove allllllll of your makeup in a flash.
- Get double duty out of your hair conditioner and use it as shaving cream.
- Broken powder makeup? No worries! You can fix it with some rubbing alcohol.
- A simple bar of Dove soap is an excellent brush cleanser.
What are your beauty hacks?

I love baby wipes!I refuse to buy “makeup remover” wipes for 6.99+ when I can usually get generic store brand baby wipes for sale on the cheap AND they last a lot longer and have sturdier packaging. Another cheappie thing I do is use the little bit of hand moisturizer left on my hands after application, and use it as my “smoothing fly away no more cream” for my hair.
I have a really moisturizing body lotion that I cannot stand the scent of (Vanilla + Wendy = barf) so I put it in the shower and slather it on to wet skin and then rinse off the excess. I also use it for a shave lotion.
I also do the conditioner as shaving cream. As for makeup remover, I actually apply vaseline to my eyelids and let it sit for about 30 minutes, then wipe with makeup remover/face cloths. So far, this has been the most effective method of removing eyeline and especially mascara.
Great post!
