A couple of weeks ago I got to a project that was years in the making. I’d bought this empty palette about 7 years ago, intending to use it for foundations or lipsticks, but afraid to mess up my makeup.
After doing a periodic cleaning of my makeup I decided to bite the bullet and took a few minutes (literally, about ten) to melt some cream concealers in the microwave and pour them into the palette. Easy peasy.
Speaking of periodic cleaning, I make it a point to edit out pieces every couple months or so. Tossing products that are finished and giving away those that no longer serve me is entirely refreshing. As a person who tends to hold onto things for far longer than I should, it actually feels amazing to let go and open room for more to come in.
How often do you clean out your makeup collection? Do you have a hard time letting go of favorite products?

Melting the makeup in the microwave doesn’t alter them?
Nope! They’re fine – they just liquidate and then harden perfectly.
