Along with some of their fabulous eyeshadow palettes, I was sent a few Creamy Lipsticks to sample from City Color Cosmetics.
After many years of being in a nearly exclusive relationship with lip gloss, I’m at a point where I value the look and feel of a traditional lipstick. While gloss will always have a special place in my heart, it’s the season for going bolder and deeper with a different texture of product on my lips.
With that being said, I have to admit that I have been extremely spoiled by Milani’s Color Statement lipsticks, which have propelled budget-friendly lipsticks to a whole other level. They’re the standard by which I’ll measure any future product, drugstore value or not. So, what does that mean about City Color Cosmetics Creamy Lipsticks?
The three colors I have to sample are (from left to right): Soft Pink, Red, and Coral.
The good news is that these lipsticks are extremely emollient and hightly pigmented. In comparision to Wet n Wild’s lipsticks, I find these to be a whole lot smoother and more comfortable to wear, maybe even a little bit too lightweight. The bad news is that the durability of these lipsticks is nothing to write home about, and I found that they disappeared after about an hour. The verdict is that the Creamy Lipsticks are just ok, and nothing spectacular.
As much as I like their eyeshadow, I wish I had nicer things to say about City Color Cosmetics Creamy Lipsticks, but on a scale of 1 to 5, I give them a 2 1/2. City Color Cosmetics Creamy Lipsticks retail for $1.99 and come in 6 different shades.
