Add the word “Hollywood” to any makeup and skincare product and I guarantee it will fly off the shelves. Fly! I say this from personal experience. When I worked behind a beauty counter a coworker would demonstrate products and say the following words: “Now, this is going to give you that Old Hollywood Glow”. And just like that, cha-ching, a sale was made.
I must confess I’m just as susceptible to that Old Hollywood Glow as anyone else. In my teen years I spent hours at my local library poring over black and white and technicolor photos of those Old Hollywood stars who had the most gorgeous complexions. As I learned through my years of being a makeup devotee, it turns out there was some old school photo editing going on for the flawlessness, as well as strategic lighting placements and heavy pancake makeup, but the effect was all the same. Old Hollywood Glow for the win!
There are seven shades of Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter available. It’s a complexion booster inspired by social media filters that promises to give your skin an ethereal, youthful glow. It helps soften focus, blur imperfection, and help your skin look like it’s living its best life. Think healthy glow, not disco ball status.
I chose shade 4 which is a great match for my medium skin tone. You can apply it as a primer or on top of your foundation as a highlighter. I’ve been using it both ways and can report that it’s definitely a keeper. I like that it’s not obnoxious and it is long-wearing.
My Final Thoughts: I’m really happy with my purchase of Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. It reminds me in a good way of a Prescriptives product that’s long discontinued and gave my skin a lovely , lit-from-within glow.
