Before I get into my thoughts on this lipstick, I have to share a story from my retail makeup artistry past. When I’d just started my job in Beverly Hills a customer came to my makeup bay and asked for a recommendation for “the perfect nude lipstick”. A few co-workers caught my eye and waved warning signs my way. This person was notorious for frequent visits, purchases and returns on her search for the perfect nude lipstick which actually ended up getting her arrested! Shortly after our encounter, on the quest for the perfect nude lipstick, she left her toddler son in the car alone and someone called the police. And a few weeks later came back looking for the perfect nude lipstick. Has she ever found that color? I wonder about it all and hope she and her now grown son are okay because really, it wasn’t about the perfect nude lip color.
Back to Charlotte Tilbury – I’m a big fan of her matte texture lipsticks which have an incredibly smooth texture. The metallic lipstick packaging is super glamorous and heavy. And the color? Spot on.
As far as the texture of Bitch Perfect … I wish I could say it’s perfect. I don’t know why it’s so grainy, but I wouldn’t pay $34 for another Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick. It’s also scented and not quite up my alley.
My Final Thoughts: I’m not the greatest fan of Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Bitch Perfect – it’s not as luxurious as the price tag suggests! The texture is grainy and the scent is a little much for my tastes. Instead I’d recommend Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks – they are so super creamy and perfectly delightful.
