Shhhh….. I have a secret! Want lush, healthy, naturally voluminous lashes? The cure for paltry lashes is easy and costs less than $5. Really!
A few weeks ago in 365 Days of Makeup I mentioned that I was on a mission to re-invigorate my stressed out lashes. From multiple makeup applications in a day, and applying and removing false lashes, mine were in need of some serious SOS. My trick to rebuilding less-than-full lashes and brows is a simple trick I learned during my days working behind a makeup counter: castor oil.
A light coating of castor oil along your lash line and brows with a q-tip on a nightly basis is all it takes to condition your lashes and help stimulate growth! Take, for example, my lashes.
What exactly is castor oil, anyway?
Castor oil is a tasteless, odorless vegetable oil that is the product of the castor bean, which is technically a seed and not a bean. Used in a wide variety of applications, castor oil is most commonly found as a laxative, as well as a moisturizing ingredient in cosmetics and bath and body products. The City Color Cosmetics Two Tone lipstick I recently reviewed is a good example!
Although there’s no exisiting scientific evidence that castor oil promotes eyelash and eyebrow growth, I can speak from personal experience that it has truly helped my brows and lashes with no ill side effects. You can find castor oil at your local drugstore, most likely in the laxative section for around $5.
Have you used castor oil before?
