Confession: When it comes to removing makeup, I am extremely low budget. I rely on olive oil and unscented baby wipes to clean up my eye makeup, and it works perfectly with minimal irritation.
While I’m happy with my minimally irritating makeup removing solution, I couldn’t help to pick up E.L.F.’s Eye Makeup Remover Pads, which costs a whopping $1 for 18 pads.
Could the pads possibly be easier and faster to use than my standard products? Can one of these a teensy, thin, fragrance-free pads stand up to the task of completely removing my eye makeup? We shall see.
Here’s what happened with one swipe of the makeup remover pad -
Here’s what happened with two swipes of the makeup remover pad -
Results? It did a pretty good job of taking off most of my eye makeup, but there was still a bit of residue mascara and liner on the rims that needed to be removed with a baby wipe. Plus, my eyes were a little irritated afterwards - there was a little bit of burning.
Will I keep using these pads? Yes, but not for the whole shebang. I’ll keep them around for times when I need to do a quick shadow change, or need to clean up a mistake.
You can find E.L.F. Eye Makeup Remover pads online at eyeslipsface.com and select retail outlets.

Wow, I definitely think I’ll be skipping the remover pads.
Do you apply the olive oil with cotton balls?
I felt the same way when I tried them. OUCH!
They were definitely not easy on the eyes, that’s for sure! Monika – I put a little bit of olive oil in the palm of my hand and then use a finger to apply around my eyes, move around to loosen up the makeup, and then wipe away with the baby wipe. I use the unscented wipes from Target, which I love to use on my son, as well!
