When it comes to doing your makeup, sometimes its fun to try something a little different, especially on those occassions when you’re ready to put forward a more daring face. That’s where this little trick comes in handy. When you see your regular, run-of-the-mill tape, you might not think of it as being a beauty aid, but there are oh, so many fun things you can do with a roll of Scotch tape. Not only can tape be used as a stencil to make a defined shadow shape or a blush/contour on the cheek, it’s also a great stencil for applying winged-out eye liner.
While this idea is not new to the beauty world, it is most likely something you would never think of using. Some use credit cards or business cards right up against the skin, but why not use something that stays in place on its own and is easy to dispose?
This is such an easy way to change things up! I’ve found that tape most likely will not remove your existing makeup, but to be on the safe side, I’ll apply eye makeup first and edge a bit of tape against my eye, following the natural contours of my bone structure.
Proceed with your eye makeup application and then slowly but surely remove your tape stencil. As you can see from the residue on the tape, it also makes a great stencil for more dramatic styles of liquid liner.
The beauty of makeup is that there are so many ways to wear it, to change things up a bit and try different things every now and then. And, if you’re ever invited to an 80’s party, you’ll know exactly what to do with your makeup – all thanks to a roll of Scotch tape.
