This application – smoky lids with a dash of bright color in the middle of the lid – is one of my favorite ways to wear darker shadows. It’s unexpected and gives a gorgeous flash when you blink your eyes. And it’s easy! Here’s how to get you looking like this in a few simple steps.
Step 1: Prep your eye with a primer and apply a darker cream shadow to just the outer corners of your lid with a flat shader brush.
Step 2: Using the same brush go over the cream base with a dark shadow as well as the lower lash line. Everything will be blended later so don’t worry too much about a clean application. We’re creating a skeleton for the rest of the look.
Step 3: Using a flat shader brush press in the lid color.
Step 4: Using a blending brush work a medium brown shadow in the crease to help soften the look. Use a small, fluffy brush to apply a shimmery white on the inner corner of lids and browbone.
Step 5: Line the inner rims and top lashes, add a coat of mascara and finish with groomed brows.
Step 6: This step is optional, but add some funky false lashes (should totally be the name of a new makeup brand).
This is really one of my favorite eye looks and the lashes just take it to the next level of fun – because, after all, makeup is fun!

Great job. This is truly beautiful.
