If you’ve been a makeup lover for a while, chances are you’ve heard certain tips and tricks passed around time and again. One that I’ve run across but never tried is a simple and cheap way to make your lashes look more lush. It’s one of those old school beauty tricks that’s featured in Barbara Walter’s book “How to talk to practically anybody about practically anything” . Totally worth hunting down, by the way.
To add volume to your lashes, add a layer of face powder to your bare lashes before applying mascara. The proof is in the pudding, so here’s a comparison of my lashes with and without the addition of powder. I used a powder puff to apply MAC’s Studio Careblend Pressed Powder to my lashes before mascara.

It works! And there is surprisingly no clumping issues with the addition of the powder. Here’s to tried and true makeup tricks!
