Breaking Down Beauty: A Vampy Green Eye Tutorial

By Sheila Arkee

Here’s how to create a sleekly sophisticated vampy green eye in just 5 easy steps, just in time for Halloween. The secret behind this eye is the blending – lots and lots of blending! P.S. I am *officially* addicted to the kelly green shadow featured in this look.

Step 1: When I apply a dark color to the outer corner, or any color for that matter, I like to take two pronged approach. I apply the color with a more condensed blending brush (like the MAC 217 brush, or it’s awesome $2 Target alternative), and then blend it out with a fluffy blending brush. This ensures no harsh edges.

Step 2: Using a pencil brush, add black shadow under your lower lid, and clean up any over spill if necessary.

Step 3: For maximum color impact, lay a cream shadow before your powder eyeshadow. This is the trick to bright, vibrant, verdant eyes. I always pat the powder shadow on with a flat brush which helps make the color jump off your lids.

Step 4: Add a matte white to highlight the browbone and inner corner of your eye with a small fluffy brush.

Step 5: Add brows, liner, and mascara, and you’re done!

Voila! Quite vampy!!!

Very pretty look! I think a more subdued version would be cute for Christmas as well!
