Mostly every makeup user is well aware of and uses makeup brushes, but what about the other makeup tools that are must haves for makeup applications? Today on Painted Ladies we’re going Beyond The Brush to talk about Essential Makeup Tools that are very useful for anyone.
We’ve spent a few weeks talking about brushes in Which Makeup Brush Where? here on Painted Ladies (see the posts here) which makes this the perfect time to talk about those essential tools, which happen to include a brush!
Somewhere along the way of the makeup brush series, I forgot to include or mention the oval makeup brush. These brushes were all the rage a while back, but I feel like we’re not talking about them as much? Is it because they’re apt to break at the delicate neck? Perhaps, but these are useful for applying foundation and also for making sure your foundation is well blended.
Something everyone needs and has to have is a double-sized pencil sharpener, one for regular lip and eye pencils and one side for chubby pencils. Look for one that has a top that will hold the pencil shavings until you dump them out.
Makeup spoolies are commonly found at the end of eyeliner brushes and they are so very useful for keeping your eyebrows in place and also for separating your eyelashes when you’re dealing with mascara clumpage. Also, you can use a spoolie to brush away any errant baby hairs from your hair line.
This metal palette will bring out your ultimate makeup artist! I like using a metal palette to mix foundations and cream products, like gel eyeliners.
It’s nice to have a palette besides your hand so you can get ultra creative! I also like using a metal implement to mix different products – it’s a very handy tool!
