As I was going through the list of lip products I’ve tried in 2011, there were some clear favorites that have become staples in my makeup collection. They’re definitely a range of prices, proving that the low- vs. high-end debate is moot. Without futher ado, here are my are my top ten picks for lips, from lip balms, lipsticks, and glosses.
This is my spendy splurge and treat. I simply adore the light eucalytus feeling and the fact that it comes with a SPF is just icing on the cake.
Yes, it was created for men, but I have to declare this balm and epicuren a close tie. Evolution Man’s balm has a harder texture but it just melts into your lips. Love it!
In 2011 Make Up For Ever managed to win my heart. As my first post about these long-wearing glosses declared, they are indeed like buttah. I adore the lightweight texture, pigmentation, and high shine.
Definitely the most unique lip product on this list, the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams are unlike any other stain-like product. The texture is light, fluffy, and the color stays on your lips all day. Superb for those occassions you want to wear a dark lip color and not have to touch up on the regular.
The texture, the color, the wow factor. I was sceptical about this highly touted lipstick, but highly recommend it as a great feeling lipstick, not to mention absolutely beautiful. Power is a highly wearable red and it would look good on any woman. Trust!
These $3 tinted balms are fantastic. Pure and simple. They’re moisturizing, lend a great amount of color, and shine. I was surprised by how much I like these balms, considering my general lukewarm feelings toward Maybelline.
If you don’t own any Revlon Lip Butters, stop what you’re doing, run to your local drugstore, and make sure to buy at least one. These are luxury lippies in low budget packaging. They’ve wowed me and every one else in the beauty blogosphere. The color in the photo, Candy Apple, is truly gorgeous.
Continuing the cosmetics trend of combining color, shine, and moisture in a delicate little package are the Natureluxe Lip Balms. The color choices are so pretty and you end up with a sheer smattering of color on your lips.
Essence, Essence, Essence. We have a love/hate relationship. Among their products that I love are their Long-Lasting Glosses, which are exactly as described. They have a thicker texture that doesn’t feel at all gooey, and the most intriguing lip wand.
How could I leave these luxurious, tinted, soothing lip balms out? I love, love, love Hibiscus and have to confess I’ve used these balms as a cream blush on more than a couple of occasions. They’re wonderful, and I know you’ll love them, too.
What are some of your favorite lip products from 2011?
