As I’m working my way through the new-to-the-USA Essence Cosmetics, I’m finding a variety of hits and misses, as is par for the course with all makeup brands. After trying the gel eyeliner in London Baby, I’m pleased to announce theis smooth, gunmetal liner is a definite HIT!
On a side note, could they make the packaging a little less easy for other try-but-no-buy customers to open? It was nearly impossible for me to find one in an Ulta store that didn’t have fingerprints in the product. Gross!
My regular gel liner standby is Stila’s Smudgepot. Out of the variety of gel liners I’ve tried, including MAC’s Fluidline, I’ve found that I like the durabilty and pigmentation Stila has to offer. In comparison to Stila, Essence’s Gel Liner is not as pigmented, but does offer a nice amount of color with fantastic durability. I didn’t have to go over areas on my lid after it was first applied.
And then there’s the e.l.f. gel liner I reviewed a while back. I still like the e.l.f. liner, but I find that the Essence liner offers more pigmentation and has a bit of a thicker consistency in comparison.
For $3.49, this is a beauty steal, and definitely worth checking out – just make sure to order it online! You can find Essence at Ulta.com.

The wetnwild one is my favorite for the price!
