YMMV, YLBB, LE, HG, MOTD, FOTD. Beauty acronyms pop up here, there and pretty much everywhere in the online beauty world, but how many of these do you actually understand?
Acronyms are formed from the initial letters of the words they’re represented and are pronounced differently than those words. When I first started exploring the online beauty world many years ago, I’d see certain acronyms pop up, pretend I’d know what was being conveyed, and go on my merry way. Some of them are quite puzzling and it took some online searches to help fully understand what was going on. There are still new ones that pop up all the time and if you have any to add to this list, please leave them in the comments!
I posed a few acronyms on Instagram last week and put them on my Highlights if you’re interested in taking a peek. The feedback was great and I’m glad it’s something you find useful while navigating the vast and fascinating online beauty world.
