The Aveda Feed My Lips Pure Nourish-Mint Lipsticks featured in this post were provided for editorial consideration. All opinions are 100% my own.
Aveda Feed My Lips Pure Nourish-Mint Lipstick comes in 23 shades, with 8 new lip liner colors and a guarantee that there’s a shade for every hair color.
From warm and cool blonde, warm and cool red, and warm and cool brunette, Aveda has your lipstick needs covered! Aveda is more than their beloved hair care treatments (with that oh, so wonderful scent), they also have a full line of makeup that are really good!
Today I have three liners to share with you along with a clear lipstick and seven lip colors and a clear lipstick that goes along with the set.
The Aveda Feed My Lips Pure Nourish-Mint Lipsticks come with a full four-course menu – really!
First you use the clear lip treatment to smooth fine lines and add moisture. Then you use a primer (which I did not receive in this press sample), line your lips with a liner and finally add nourishing lip color. You can wear the lipsticks without the clear lip treatment, the difference is that the final result is less glossy. I found the texture of the lipsticks to be moisturizing both with and without the treatment underneath.
The lipsticks are 95% naturally derived and have a peppermint, vanilla and ginger aroma and flavor. The lipsticks give your lips a refreshing minty feel, nothing too overwhelming. The ingredient list is rich in nourishing oils that include organic cupuaçu fruit butter and organic kukui, jojoba and sunflower oils. Aveda claims you’ll get 8 hours of wear out of these lipsticks, but I found these wear like typical lipsticks, nothing out of the ordinary.
The lip colors I received are mixed in these photos, but there’s supposed to go like this. Honey Ginger is for all hair colors. Goji, Mulberry and Morello are for Warm Brunettes. Blushed Plum, Prickly Pear and Acai are for Cool Brunettes. I’m not quite sure if I’m a warm or a cool tone, but I’m guessing I’m a cool tone? A friend “did my colors” once and proclaimed I’m a Winter, so I’m going with Cool Brunette! In this photo I’m wearing Honey Ginger.
The three liners I received are Loomi, Pomegranate and Raisin. The texture of these liners is a bit more dry in comparison to other lip pencils I use, such as Milani’s and Make Up For Ever. When I line my lips after I apply the clear lip treatment, the liners do go on much more smoothly.
Now, let’s look at swatches of the lipsticks. From left to right: Acai, Goji, Morello and Blushed Plum.
Here are Prickly Pear, Mulberry, Honey Ginger.
My Final Thoughts: Aveda Feed My Lips Pure Nourish-Mint Lipstick are really very nice. They’re chock full of nourishing ingredients and while they add tons of moisture, they won’t feather or slip away quickly.
