I’ve long been fascinated by Atopalm, a plant-based skincare line designed for dry, sensitive, and damaged skin. The simple and elegant packaging is what drew me in – I’m such a sucker for those types of things. The good news is that their products do live up to their packaging reputation, as my fellow Painted Ladies can avow.
Although designed with dry skin tones in mind, I found their Daytime Undermakeup Moisture Cream to work well for my normal-to oily skin as a primer, holding my makeup together very nicely without a hint of slippage throughout a humid day. With a lightweight texture, the cream is silicone-free, and contains Vitamin E, antioxidants, and Atopalm’s MLE-Multi Lamellar Emulsion to “…mimic skin’s natural structure and restore skin’s protective moisture barrier system.”
I usually use a sunscreen as my moisturizer and primer, but I switched things up by using this as my moisturizer/primer, and for foundation used my Missha BB Cream which contains SPF 42. I’m also using the cream at night on top of Retin A Micro, and it’s keeping my skin feeling great. No breakouts or irritation at all.
If you’re in the market for a silicone- and paraben-free primer, or just a really nice SPF-free moisturizer, check out Atopalm Daytime Undermakeup Moisture Cream. You can find more information on Atopalm products at www.atopalmusa.com
