PL Reader: When you’re doing a celebrity’s makeup application, do you do anything different than you would for a normal makeup application?
Jason: The funny thing about doing makeup for celebrity clientele is that oftentimes, your artist creativity is limited; after all, most celebs feel the need to maintain a particular image.
Celebrity makeup application is usually about creating the appearance of flawless skin which is done by minimizing the negatives and highlighting the positives and that way, helping them to look their very best.
So, I guess there isn’t much difference between celebrity and “normal” makeup. The biggest difference in makeup application comes mostly from WHY I am doing makeup, not for whom I am doing makeup for: photo (b+w or color), film, personal appearance, etc. This goes for celebrity and non…it’s situational.
