While browsing through my local drugstore the other day just possibly browsing through tabloids with coverage of the royal wedding, I decided to pick up a tube of CoverGirl’s new Natureluxe Gloss Lip Balms.
There’s a wide color selection of these brightly colored lipsticks, and they do seem like they could be a bit bright in the tube. I ended up taking home Hibiscus, which is on the fuschia side of the color spectrum.
Although these lippies look bright, they’re a lot more subdued when applied, a nice combination of a lipstick and a lipgloss, and a step up from the CoverGirl Lipslicks I grew up hoarding in terms of texture and color.
These CoverGirl lippies seemed very similar to the Wet n Wild lip Natural Wear Lip Shimmers, which have a similar name and branding, and so I decided to pull out my tube of the Wet n Wild lip color to compare.
The CoverGirl Natureluxe Gloss Lip Balms are a little more pigmented, not quite as glossy than the Wet n Wild Natural Wear Lip Shimmers.
I like the CoverGirl Natureluxe Gloss Lip Balms - they’re a nice way to try some bright colors and especially nice if you like a glossy texture to your lipcolors without feeling any of the heaviness that’s traditionally associated with lip glosses. For under $7 and often available with a discount, they’re a win in my book.

I *L*O*V*E* these lip balms! I must own at least 6 of them. Checking their website – Peony, Grenache, Cabernet, Sandstone, Hibiscus, Coral, Clay – ok, so 7 of them! I’m totally a lip balm gal, always feels like my lips are dry/chapped for some reason so these fill my needs as well as provide color! Only complaint…well, price point. But clearly it didn’t slow me down! lol
They’re pretty darned awesome!
