When esthetician Ilona Landver decided to pursue her lifelong dream of launching a skincare brand, she did it with her dear friend Eva Kovacs in mind, who passed away from cancer. Aeveka, which is inspired by Eva’s nickname, is a line of natural and organic skincare products made to be beneficial, natural and effective.
Looking at the beautiful packaging and feeling the luxurious textures of the product, you can definitely tell a lot of love went in to the development and production of these cleansers, treatments, and creams. Overall, I was very impressed with the Aeveka products I’ve been using for the last few weeks.
Let’s take a peek at the Aeveka line, starting with the Refreshing Citrus Face Cleanser and Repairing Micro Facial Scrub.
The Refreshing Citrus Face Cleanser ($29.95) helps remove impurities and cleanse with coconut oil, jojoba oil, and raw turbinado sugar. While it won’t remove makeup, it does a wonderful job deep cleaning skin.
The Repairing Micro Facial Scrub ($39.95) gets its job done with aluminum oxide crystals, which is a nice alternative to microbeads that aren’t so environmentally friendly. I’ve been using this with my Foreo Luna with great results and no irritation. This scrub also contains aloe and sweet almond oil.
The Revitalizing Day Cream ($55) is lightweight and sunscreen-free, adding hydration with shea butter along with cucumber and aloe to help with firmness and elasticity.
The Regenerating Night Cream ($56) contains Vitamin A and CQ10 to help reverse signs of aging and help eliminate fine lines, pigmentation and age spots. This is also lightweight and did not cause a bit of irritation. Dark cherry juice, rose hip oil, and and green tea are other ingredients that add brightness and nourishment to skin.
The Restorative Enzyme Treatment ($52) is something to be used every 2 weeks or so. This is an intense fruit peel made with blueberries that help resurface your skin. A thin layer is to be applied on the skin and removed after 2 minutes. This peel leaves your skin feeling great and stimulates collagen production, but if it causes irritation, remove immediately.
The Replenishing CQ10 Eye Creme ($39.95) is just my cup of tea. This is a lightweight eye cream formulated with micro algae and peptides to reduce eye puffiness and the appearance of fine lines. I love that it feels refreshing and it’s something I can use day or night.
The Resurfacing Facial Serum ($60) is formulated with peptides and hyaluronic acid to reverse and stop signs of aging. This is to be used after cleansing and before moisturizers.
While I’m not sure if it was a case of hormones or something I can attribute to the skincare, I did experience a small breakout while using Aeveka. I suspect the problem may have been the Resurfacing Facial Serum and since I’ve stopped using it the breakout has subsided and nothing new has popped up.
My Final Thoughts: Not only does Aeveka Skincare smell incredible and feel luxurious, you can rest at ease knowing you’re using products made from natural and organic sources. My two favorites from the line are the Repairing Micro Facial Scrub and the Replenishing Eye Cream, which have become staples in my skin routine.
I don’t know Ilona personally, but after reading her story on Aeveka’s website, I’ve decided I love her. As Ilona says,
“My philosophy on life is simple: surround yourself with positive people. Because without positive & supportive influences, life is rather difficult. I wouldn’t have been able to start this skincare line without the help of my best friends and family. They are an amazing support system.
I also believe in living life to the fullest. Witnessing what my dear friend Eva went through helped me to truly realize that you never know what the next day will bring. I was always so cautious in the past about starting my Aeveka skincare line and that’s why I didn’t do it sooner. I had so many “What if” this and “What if” that type of questions. But if there is no risk, there is no reward, and I’m living proof of that!”
Hooray for the risk takers in life!
