A Few Tips to Save Time and Space

As a professional makeup artist I am always creatively looking into how I can save time and space while working. My work space has many products on it and sometimes I am working on multiple clients. When the beauty session starts things can get rather cluttered very fast, making it easy to misplace things which will ultimately take up time when searching for them.

Many of us buy single eyeshadow swatches rather than finding the perfect pallete. After a while the collection can take up a lot of space and time while searching for the right color. I came up with a creative idea to have all single swatches in one localized area. I didn’t need to go buy anything, just took a CD case and started popping the shadow disks out of their cases. Grab a little crazy glue and start arranging your disks how you want. Not only are you saving time and space, you are also keeping your kit light in weight. Your body will thank you for that.

Another useful trick is to go buy a bead container, I bought Craft Mate, and use each compartment as a lipstick storage making it your own customized lipstick pallete. Im sure I speak for many beauty buffs when I say that looking for the right color takes more time than needed when you have a large collection. All that opening, turning the notch to see the color and closing the lid takes up time. With the bead container, you can glance at all your colors and once. For the ultra cosmetics collector you can make your palletes color coordinated. All shades of nudes, pinks and reds in one and browns, chocolates, deep tones in another, you get the idea.
