A Fail Haiku: Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer

By Wendy Larson

(Reviews by Wendy, Haiku’s by Whipped Cream vodka)

Ruddiness bye-bye?
Nope, not gonna happen here
A green tinted fail

I understand the concept of color correction.  Green neutralizes redness, and as a woman of fair skin and Scottish decent, I have redness to boot.  Sadly the Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer doesn’t even come close to cancelling out redness.  The green disappears into the skin and does nothing.  It’s still got the formula of the Photo Finish Light primer, which I actually enjoy.

As a primer, it’s a damn good product.  As a color corrector, it’s unfortunate.  You’ll never see the green tint, and if for some reason you can ever find this cheaper than the Photo Finish Light (clearance, supersale, etc) I suggest getting it, just don’t expect it to do anything beyond prime.
