A Fail Haiku: ELF Studio High Definition Powder

By Wendy Larson

Itchy Itchy itch
This powder gets everythere
And gives me cakeface

I knew I had an intolerance to silicone, but didn’t realize how much my skin doesn’t like them until I spent a week covering my face in Dimethecone and Silica powder. Itchy itchy itchy. Even tried it under my eyes only, it gets into my eyes and scratches them. Even worse, it produces really bad cakeface. I thought I could live with it, but it’s just not worth it.

This is the only elf product I’ve tried that I didn’t love. I read on a website that it was the equivalent of Make-Up Forever’s high def powder….not. I got cake face as well. :( A $3.00 fail doesn’t hurt as bad as a high priced one, though.

So sorry it didn’t work for you! It actually works really well for me but I have EXTREMELY oily skin and HUGE pores. I even use it as a powder primer prior to my powder foundations. I rarely use liquid foundations but when I do it’s ELF’s studio flawless foundation.

Makes me thankful there are so many products available out there to try….nothing works for everyone. Too Faced Shadow Insurance doesn’t do a thing for me but most people rave about it. I get lots of creasing with it.

Katherine- any ideas if the MUF HD Powder is actually similar?

Thia- Thank you for the idea, I might have to try it as a primer instead. Thankfully it doesn’t break me out, just a little uncomfortable.

    Sue- Lol, thanks 😉
