I can’t believe Thanksgiving is almost here and Christmas is right around the corner. Where did this year go? I guess it doesn’t really feel like the holidays either because the crisp, cold air I was waiting all summer for has kind of developed into a moderate Fall season, which disappoints me greatly. My city is known (or used to be known) for snow and cold and I’m missing it!
Anyway, never fear, because NARS has made sure we will have a very happy holiday season, no doubt about it. I actually don’t own a lot of NARS products, but the ones I do have are all products I reach for regularly. For Holiday 2009, they introduced, among many other things, a new Multiple by the name of Luxor and a Soft Shadow Pencil called Aigle Noir. Once I saw swatches of these, there was no turning back. They had to come home with me.
Luxor is a silvery pink, almost iridescent, shimmery, but not glittery, and perfect for highlighting the cheekbones. (I also do the center of my nose to give it a slimming effect.) Like all of the Multiples, it is pricey and I wish it were a little creamier and softer, but I can tell this will last a long time and a sponge makes blending it in very helpful.
Aigle Noir is a unique shade that appears black, but has a bit of gold mixed in, so the color is more complex. It goes on very smoothly and surprisingly, it lasted hours without creasing. I used it as an eyeliner as well and it created a great cat eye that lasted all day.
The only other item in the holiday lineup that caught my eye was the Mousson Cream Shadow, but I didn’t splurge on that. I highly recommend checking it out, though. It’s a beautiful silvery, cypress-like green.
Luxor The Multiple (doesn’t that sound like a character from a kid’s book?) is available for $37, and the Aigle Noir Soft Shadow Pencil is $24 on the NARS website.

These both look beautiful!! Although the Multiples are $37 each, they last FOREVER. Wish I had the money this season, I’d run out and grab both…
