Whether you call it strobing, highlighting, backlighting, or glowing, there’s really something to be said about the power of a good highlighter. Glow, glow, glow! I have to admit I love, love, love a good glow and have collected my fair share of highlighters through the years. While I find myself favoring powder highlighters, I do use and enjoy liquid highlighters which happen to be extremely versatile.
I received a bottle of Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Prosecco Pop in my latest Boxycharm which is a gorgeous gold liquid highlighter.
You can do so many things with liquid highlighters and they are a great way to give your overall makeup routine a total lit from within glow.
Today I’m going to share some of my favorite beauty hacks with your. Here are 7 ways to use liquid highlighters.
1- First, mix in into your foundation – the proportions are 1 part highlighter to 3 parts foundation. Just a dab’ll do.
2- Another way you can use a liquid highlighter is to apply it on top of your foundation just before setting your makeup with powder. Use a brush or your fingers to apply it to your cheekbones, middle of your forehead, down the center of your nose, and on top of your cupid’s bow.
3- If you use a powder to set, add a bit of highlighter on top of your powder to pack a punch!
You don’t have to do all three of the last liquid highlighter beauty hacks together! They’re great on their own and each have their own place. For demonstrative purposes I did use all three together – what a glow!
4- Use a pencil brush to add a bit to your eyes. I like to add it right in the inner corner of the eyelid for a fresh look.
5- Use a lip brush (or the pad of your ring finger) to press it into the middle of your lower lip after applying your lip color. This adds dimension to your lips and makes them look fuller.
6- Gild your hair! Take a tiny bit and piece it through dry hair. You can even add a bit to hair gel/cream/mousse for an overall glow.
7- Give your entire body a glow by adding liquid highlighter with your body lotion. It’s a great tip for Holiday party season!
