Make Up For Ever Artist just did something awesome, which was to drop seven brand new shades of the stellar Make Up Liquid Matte Liquid Lip Colors. And they are stunners!
When you think about it, isn’t amazing how far the beauty industry has come with liquid lip colors? Last night I was taking a trip down memory lane through my childhood hometown, courtesy of Google Street View. Oh, it was awesome and honestly better than booking a trip up north for a few days. I saw my parent’s place of business, old hangouts, and the Macy’s where I finagled my way into a job with MAC Cosmetics!
Those memories took me back to high school in the mid 90’s, when Revlon introduced the very first long-lasting lipsticks which were all around terrible! The combination of a balm plus a separate long wear lipstick from Revlon and then Cover Girl never quite worked out for me, so I am very glad that today’s long wearing formulas exist. The Make Up For Ever Liquid Lip Colors are some of my favorites for a few very important reasons.
Most importantly, these long wearing colors that offer up to 20 hours of wear are sooooooo smooth. They are so easy to apply and feel very cushion-y and soft on my lips. I’ve loved these lip colors from Make Up For Ever since I first reviewed them months ago.
They come with a doe foot applicator which makes it easy to apply. With the darker shades I do have to wipe a bit off before applying them, otherwise it’s way too much product for my lips.
With berry and red shades, these new colors are perfect for traditional Fall and Winter makeup looks. I swatched them on my arm first and then individually. They dry down after about a minute and then it’s easy to fix mistakes as needed. There’s no flaking with these lip colors and they do wear very well, which is a huge plus thanks to the key ingredient of beeswax. I’ve never tested them for the full 20 hour promise, but they won’t pull a presto chango disappearing act right away.
Ready for some more swatches? Let’s take a look! I did use the PMD Kiss device right before applying these colors. I’m not sure if I’ve noticed a permanent change with that device as of yet, but it does enhance my lips at least temporarily.

My Final Thoughts: Make Up For Ever Artist Liquid Matte Lip Colors are some of my favorite long-wearing lip colors. They’re definitely worth trying out if you’re a fan of this type of lip product and I’m loving the new shades they’ve introduced into the line.
