Sometimes the best things for your beauty routine are the most simple. I’m going back to the basics in my beauty routine and rediscovering the love I have for simple ingredients that make a big impact! That’s the case with Jojoba Oil, which I’ve loved and used for years. Today I’m sharing 5 beauty uses for Jojoba Oil that will give your skin, hair and nails an incredible boost.
Jojoba Oil, prononunced ho-HO-ba, is derived from the seed of a shrub that’s native to the Southwestern portion of the United States of America. It’s a very stable oil that’s been used to treat skincare issues for centuries. Jojoba Oil has properties that closely resemble sebum produced by human skin. It can be used on its own, as well as used a carrier oil for essential oils and other skincare ingredients.
I first learned about Jojoba Oil when I was a young beauty junkie, and it’s remained a staple in my beauty arsenal ever since. I use it on it’s own and it indeed has a multitude of helpful uses for beauty and health. Are you ready to get into my list of 5 beauty uses for Jojoba Oil? Here we go!
Remove Your Makeup With Ease
The very first way I learned to use Jojoba Oil is as a cleansing oil and eye makeup remover. It’s extremely gentle and works extremely effectively to break down tough eye makeup. Douse a cotton pad with Jojoba Oil and let it set on your eyes for about ten seconds. Follow up with your regular cleanser and your makeup will have pulled a disappearing act and your skin will feel great – not pulled or tight at all!
Jojoba Oil is odorless and lightweight. It’s ideal for slathering on your skin right after you’ve taken a shower or bath. Not only does it help your skin, it also is great for your nails. Apply some around your cuticles if they need some TLC.
Mix some sugar or salt with Jojoba Oil and scrub away! The results are super, super, super smooth skin.
Give Your Hair A Boost
Jojoba Oil is the best thing that’s ever happened to my curly hair. I have to admit I’m not a fan of Coconut Oil simply because I find it weighs my hair down. I’ll apply a bit of Jojoba Oil to the ends of my hair at night or use it as a deep conditioning mask every once in a while. I’ll slather my scalp and hair with Jojoba Oil, put on a shower cap, and let it set for a couple of hours before shampooing it out. No extra conditioner needed!
Condition Your Lashes
Yes, your lashes need some TLC every now and then and when mine are needing some love I’ll use a q-tip to apply some to my lash line at night. The results? Lovely lashes!
