Although the quality of the BH Cosmetics 6 Color Concealer & Corrector palette in Medium left me feeling lukewarm, I really appreciate the fact that it includes an orange corrector which is a must have for anyone who needs some extra help with under eye circles.
Under eye circles are a fact of life. Genetics, your health, and other factors contribute to the intensity of the darkness people have to deal with. In general I recommend using a pink-toned concealer for knocking out under eye circles, but for extreme cases of discoloration, using an orange or red color before your regular concealer helps to even the playing field. As a makeup artist, I have even used orange and red lipstick for this same purpose. And it works wonders!
Here’s a quick and easy 3 step demonstration of how to use an orange corrector. On one eye I used NYX HD Concealer in Medium on its own, and on the other eye I layered a bit of the orange corrector underneath the NYX Concealer.
Here are my eye before:
Step 1: Add a small amount of orange corrector just to the areas that you’d like to lift up.
Step 2: Pat the orange corrector in with a flat brush (MAC 252), then blend your regular concealer right on top with Sephora Airbrush Concealer Brush #57.
Step 3: Set concealer with a translucent powder, and you’re all set!
Easy! No go forth and conquer dark shadows!
