278/365 Days of Eyeshadow

By Sheila Arkee

For today’s look, I couldn’t keep my hands off of the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette – these colors are positively delicious! The darker colors are a little soft in the pans, but I’m still in a bit of shock at how vibrant the colors look on the lid.

I’m using another new mascara by NYX, called Fly With Me. The brush is very interesting,  plastic with a heavier tip to produce thick, luxe lashes. As usual, it’s in the probationary period of mascara testing (all mascaras look great after 2 weeks!), so we shall see what happens!

Base: MAC Bare Canvas Paint Pot

Lid, Outer Corner, Browbone: From Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette

Liner: Clinique Egyptian

Brows: Stila Dark Brow Duo, darker shade

Mascara: NYX Fly With Me

*NYX provided for consideration.

  • How do get this shadows to blend! Once on my eye, bam – there they stay! I prime with Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Then because of my hooded eyelids, I put a darker color from the pallet in my crease to give some depth then put the colors over and around it. But once I put it down with a crease brush and go back to blend it out (feather it out I guess), nothing!! Do I need a nude shadow base first? TY! Love the daily eyes!

Jolene – These are some highly pigmented shadows, for sure! My advice is to use a light hand and apply less than you think you need to! Start with a small amount, and gradually build up.

I have that issue too Jolene. It does help to just barely poke your brush in the color, blow off the excess, and build up as needed. I also find that using smaller brushes really helps.

  • Thanks !! I used a nude base this morning and a light hand (tapping off excess) and it worked like I wanted it to!

    Awesome! So glad that worked!
