Now that the Holiday season is over (it whooshed past, right?) and we’ve pretty much finished our best of 2018 lists, it’s time to start looking forward to our goals and resolutions for the New Year. I’ve had a few things on my mind to share, my 2019 beauty wishes for the year ahead both personal and beauty industry-related.
In so many ways I feel like I’m in a bit of bubble. I do keep track of certain things here and there, but for the most part I do what I like. I buy what I like, post what I like and don’t look to trends or bandwagons. If there’s one major lesson I’ve learned in my time as a beauty blogger it’s that bandwagons might look nice, but they’re awful easy to fall off of!
Beauty Wish #1: Professional Skincare Treatments! Now that I’m officially in my 40’s I want to focus on keeping my canvas looking its best and will admit I’m inching closer and closer to injectables and laser treatments to address a loss in volume and expression lines.
Beauty Wish #2: Luxury Makeup Brushes. While I’m a believer that good makeup brushes can be found in all price ranges, I got a taste of higher end makeup brushes and want more. There is something to be said for expertly crafted makeup brushes, and so I’m looking forward to trying brushes from Hakuhodo, Wayne Goss and Sonia G.
Beauty Wish #3: I wish beauty brands would pay attention to the thirty plus crowd! Sure, younger influencers get the attention, but ladies in different age ranges have purchasing power!
Beauty Wish #4: I wish brands would commit to fewer product launches and better quality products. Over the last year I was surprised to see certain brands do exactly the opposite – increase their launches and decrease the quality of their product. It’s about quality and yes, we can tell the difference.
What are some of your beauty wishes for 2019?
